Makeup is a great way to play with your look and have fun. But at least once in every makeup journey you feel like pulling your hair out at the roots. Though practice is key to every makeup technique there are some great tools out there to help us not lose our minds. These are my favorite makeup tools, that make life just a little bit easier.
- Eyelash curlers
For all you straight lashed makeup enthusiasts out there, this dangerous looking contraption is a life saver. It helps give lashes some much needed lift to help them look longer and give them some oomph! (Should ideally be followed with mascara to hold the curl). A good tip is to blast the eyelash curlers with a hair dryer for a few seconds to get a stronger curl. Just be sure to test the heat of the eyelash curlers on your finger first!
- Triangle sponges
Beauty Blenders seem to be all the rage lately and though I agree that they are amazing, I still feel that there is a place for their older counterpart: the triangle sponge. The triangle sponge is fantastic for blending out foundation, cleaning up mistakes and in a pinch can also be used as a powder puff. These versatile little sponges are very cheap, easy to clean and seeing as they often get sold in huge packs will last you ages.
Most people have one or two of these torture devices lying around. They are most definitely used for the most obvious reasons: cleaning up unwanted facial hair, but are also great for applying false eyelashes or for picking up small pieces of facial jewellery.
- Orange wood sticks or tongue depressors
Orange wood sticks are inexpensive tools that can be found at almost any Pharmacy. They are very helpful then you need to decant some product (like when using gel liner from a pot) but can also be used to make a guide when you are applying winged liner or want eye shadow with a sharp edge.
- Pencil sharpeners
It is next to impossible to get precise lines with blunt eye and lip liner pencils. Having one of these in your makeup bag will ensure you never struggle with blunt liners again; also you get the added benefit of sanitising your product between uses. Win, win.
I hope this post was informative and will help you build your perfect makeup bag. Let me know in the comment section below what your favorite makeup tool is.
Have a beautiful day.
